THE COURSEWORK COLLECTION: A STUDY IN CRAFT
Exploring the intersection of traditional West African textiles and modern architectural silhouettes.
Beyond the Stitch
At Lush n Rush, every garment is a thesis. Our ‘Coursework’ series is an ongoing exploration of how fabric moves, how color lives, and how history can be worn. We don’t just ‘make’ clothes; we study the drape of hand-dyed silk and the structural integrity of cotton-adire blends to ensure that every piece is a masterclass in comfort and style.
01 Material Research:
We source authentic, hand-dyed Adire and artisanal fabrics, testing for breathability and longevity in tropical climates.
Pattern Drafting:
Our silhouettes are \”course-corrected\” over multiple fittings to ensure they flatter a diverse range of bodies (Sizes 8–22).
Ethical Assembly:
Each piece is constructed by skilled hands, ensuring that the human element of fashion is never lost to the machine.
How to Care for Your Garments
A masterpiece requires maintenance. To ensure your Coursework pieces last for years, we recommend:
- Hand wash in cold water with mild detergent.
- Avoid direct sunlight when drying to preserve the hand-dyed Adire tones.
- Steam lightly to maintain the fluid drape of the silk.
